Review of Monster's Ball (2001) by Yasir S — 18 Apr 2010
Usually I dislike slow and understated films. Also Hollywood typically fucks up racial issues with stereotypes. This is not true in this film, which is the best I've seen on race. The movie is utterly miserable and depressing until the final moments of hope, which felt earned and real as opposed to forced and fake.
