Review of Monsters and Men (2018) by Ray M — 06 Oct 2018
A timely, topical film, but much more than just that. Monsters and Men places the audience directly in its primary conflict and forces us to weigh some difficult questions. Reinaldo Marcus Green employs a uniquely linear style, through which characters and their complex perspectives weave in and out.
It is visceral and uneasy, and yet so full of beauty and love. I won't be surprised when adventurous teachers begin to show this movie in schools.
