"Monsters" is overall entertaining, low-key sci-fi drama about an alien race of giant octupus-like creatures now living in Mexico in a Infected Zone and a man & a woman trying to cross it to get home to USA.
The movie is like an alternate version of "District 9" with less Apartheid and more horror added to it, so that ate away some of it's appeal but the great cinematography and the cool Cthulu like monsters, that don't appear more than three-four times in the movie by the way, was a nice touch.
Not bad from a first time director-writer Gareth Edwards.
