Surprisingly, Monsters was a thrilling and emotionally rewarding addition to the monster movie genre that isn't the average addition. It isn't a complex movie, its actually pretty straight forward with what it wants to do.
But the way it does it is so refreshing and in a way, beautiful. Monsters is a movie about hardship and love.
