Monsters(2010).
Starring:Scoot McNairy(Andrew Kaudler) and Whitney Abel(Sam Whyden).
Written and Directed By:Gareth Edwards.
My Review.
I have only seen three monster movies in my life well four if you count the one I never mention. This film makes my fifth, a movie called Monsters with barely any monsters in it. But quite honestly I don't mind that. Because this film is the most suspenseful romance film I have seen to date.
The Film revolves around a photographer named Andrew played by Scoot McNairy who I thought was really great in the film. He goes to pick up Sam Wyden his bosses daughter. He has been given an assignment to take her back home to America. but having been robbed of their passports they bought they must go through the infected zone if they to get to America.
As much I liked the performance of Scoot McNairy as Andrew I mostly loved the performance of Whitney Abel as Sam cause you could feel that she really wants to pass through the infected Zone to get home and she will do whatever it takes and she's being very nice and generous to the people she meets in Mexico but when she is closer to home she says to Andrew "I don't wanna go home."You can really feel that she has been through something extraordinary and that's amazing.
The interesting thing about Monsters is that the director Gareth Edwards did all the effects on his computer. Along with his great direction toward the motion picture you can feel that Gareth Edwards wanted to make a film that would look and feel like a spectacle. This was a low-budget movie actually I don't know how low the budget was but I knew right before I watched the movie that it was a low budget movie which is great cause it shows that not ever spectacle has to be a blockbuster.
The Monsters in the film are barely seen and I have no problem with that cause you know that the scenes with the monsters are going to be amazing anyway because well your looking at the monster which is cool to look at but the human story is the main story and the one where suppose to care about and I do, I really loved this film and I think it's a spectacle of a movie it's one of my favorite movies of all time I give Monsters a 5 out of 5.
