Review of Monsters (2010) by Adam K — 31 May 2014
The best way to see this is as a low-budget indie with the concept of terrestrial creatures posing a threat as the background. With such a limited budget, director Gareth Edwards brings to life an intense sense of peril as we follow two well matched characters played wonderfully by Scoot McNairy and Whitney Able in their journey to the American border through Mexico while evading dangerous alien inhabitants.
It throws in atmospheric romance that is certainly fitting to make this film a little more unique. This film certain shows how Edwards eventually scored the gig of directing Godzilla.
