Review of Monsters (2010) by Rod E — 26 Feb 2013

Monsters has giant squid with legs, and thats not the best thing about it. The screenplay is a masterclass in the power of suggestion, rather than a barrage of heavy handed plot points. The only real criticism that I have is that the leading duo seem to have a wavering concern for the well being of themselves and others around them.

Sometimes terrified, other times unconcerned about the deaths of a dozen guardian mercenaries. Odd, considering that the suspense is palpable. Still, a brilliant, thoughtful sci-fi.
