Review of Monster-in-Law (2005) by Amyreneé F — 21 Dec 2009
I don't get why people are so harsh on J Lo - she's definitely better in this movie than Michael Vartan, who was very 2-dimensional and boring as the fiancee (and sheez, what a mama's boy..
.) I personally thought J Lo gave a good performance (not extraordinary, but believable, at least). And Jane Fonda was awfully funny in her role. But who really won me over was Wanda Sykes, who made me laugh constantly.
The plot may seem a little thin, but that's okay - this movie aims to be light entertainment, not an Oscar-worthy film, and as light entertainment, it succeeds.
