Monster House is a very strange movie. It's definitely not a kids movie, but it's also not a not-kids movie. I guess it really does throw back to the old days of "kid movie," like E.
T. and Goonies. The script has some of the worst writing I've ever seen/heard, but the CGI cinematography is the best I have ever seen ...ever. So I think it's worth it just for that. They really push the envelope in terms of camera in the 3d environment.
