Review of Monsoon Wedding (2001) by Raphael B — 09 Jan 2009
I enjoyed the colors, the culture and the music in this film and I did like the several different romances that were all happening at once, but at times it was somewhat chaotic with the many different characters in once scene and it didn't seem, to me, like very much was really happening.
Just a lot of this and that but nothing very substantial. It was also hard for me to understand what was being said, even when they were speaking in English. I ended up turning on the subtitles for the entire movie.
Perhaps I would enjoy it more a second time around. I think I probably liked "The Namesake" a bit better, but still a good film.
