Review of Monsoon Wedding (2001) by Juanka P — 21 May 2012
(Reviewed by Juanka) This movie is about a middle class family from India, preparing a very chaotic wedding from their daughter, Aditi Verma (Vasundhara Das). Lalit Verma, the father, (Naseeruddin Shah) is tryting to prepare the wedding as best as his can, to impress his own family, close friends and society in general.
Aditi will undestand that her affair with Vikram has no future, and decided to accept a fixed marriage with Hemant Ral (Parvin Dabas), an indian engineer living in Houston, which could mean a more liberal life than the traditional one she lives in India.
However, a few days before th wedding she decides to have a encounter with her former lover, which could bring about a disaster for everyone. The family will have several issues to solve around this wedding, before the monsoon arrive.
