Review of Monsieur Lazhar (2011) by Sid C — 27 Apr 2012
A sweet, touching film that draws a lot of its charm from the talented child actors. While I seriously doubt that a person applying for asylum would lie to get a teaching position in a public school and then further call attention to himself by being quite forward in dealing with the children and their parents, the story as a whole is nevertheless engaging and with a nice emotional payoff.
