Review of Monsieur Lazhar (2011) by Ankur B — 20 May 2014
I happened to catch this film on television the other night, Wow what a moving little film made in Quebec and with English subtitles. An Algerian teacher substitutes in a Montreal school where the former teacher was found hanging in the classroom.
The director manages to find a light touch in what could be a very heavy film. Throughly recommended and you might need your hankie!
