Review of Monsieur Hulot's Holiday (1953) by Ian H — 01 Nov 2008
While I will say it took me a while to settle in to the various scene-jumping, once I did it was laughs all the way. Mr Hulot is a superb character, who makes mischief wherever he goes and yet is oblivious to it.
The soundtrack, particularly the repeated sounds, is done extremely well and adds to the comic effect. Having rented this after watching "Jour de fête", I look forward to renting more of Jacques Tati's films.
