Review of Monkeybone (2001) by Jer M — 17 Jul 2008
Very underrated movie. It was obvious that Henry Sellick's original vision was probably screwed with by studio suits, but there is enough creative inventiveness that makes it worth seeing. The visuals are eyepoppingly beautiful and the stop-motion (Although there is notably much less of it than originally intended) is trademark Sellick-great.
Yet if ever there were a movie that was a candidate for a director's cut, it would be MONKEYBONE.
