Review of Monkey Business (1952) by Sarah G — 21 Jul 2008
Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers, and Marilyn Monroe costar in "Monkey Business." The movie, in many ways, is reminiscent of the movie with Sandra Bullock called "Love Potion No. 9." Except that instead of everyone falling in love with each other, in this movie, they all just go kinda crazy and start "monkeying" around.
Both movies include chimps whom the respective formulas are tested on. Seeing Cary Grant in those goofy, scientist glasses also gave me a flashback to his role in "Bringing up Baby." Probably the most memorable moments in this film was when Cary Grant dresses up as an Indian and tries to slay a man; as well as the part when he fell down the laundry shoot.
You can tell this was one of Cary's earlier roles as it was very goofy in feeling. For me personally, this is one of those films you see once, and that's enough.
