Review of Monkey Business (1952) by Sarah H — 15 Aug 2011
I love Cary Grant, but lord this movie was not good! It wasn't funny or smart, and it didn't even manage to be interesting. The synopsis made it sound better than it turned out to be.
And this is a mild beef, but I can't help but say that this should not be advertised as a Marilyn Monroe movie. Yes, she is in it, and yes, she died young, but she is not the star and her role is not that important. It's a Cary Grant movie and he stars in it with Ginger Rogers. There!
Ahem, so I realize that I may be in the minority of people who don't like "Monkey Business", but oh well. I was ready to turn it off way before it ended, but I watched the whole thing. I suppose it was worth it for Cary Grant and Ginger Rogers.
Okay, no it wasn't.
