Review of Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan (2007) by Mark D — 16 Jan 2009
Though visually stunning, I felt let down. I have read a lot about Ghengis Kahn, and this sadly missed large parts of his life, over told less important parts and really underplayed him. The cast though looking the part, and with brilliant cinematography, it still feels a let down, most especially the war scenes - though few and far between reall don't give you that feel, you would expect from one of historys greatest warriors.
It ends when you would think it was going to be picking up and we finally see the real Ghengis in action! But not all bad, still an enjoyable film.
