Review of Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan (2007) by Angelina C — 13 Jun 2009
A film that delivers in intense visual large scale battles in between slowly transitioning serene imagery, "Mongol" is the sobering somewhat sensationalized tale of Genghis Kahn's life. With wonderful direction, the only places I could fault this film is the story's tendency to jump around a bit too much, and the computer animation that appeared a bit wonky.
Definitely a 'guy film', I would state that it is hit or miss with chicks. "Mongol" otherwise delivers with excellent acting from Honglei Sun, Amadu Mamadakov and the rest of the cast which approached it with obvious zeal.
