Review of Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan (2007) by Ritchie G — 17 Sep 2009
One of those shows that make you wonder if you are actually watching a film or being transported to the savage and visceral past.
The lush landscape of Mongol justifiably made harsh and surreal. Every shot a photo moment. Though the music not as inspiring as Western epics (read: Troy, Alexander, etc), I presume it is authentic.
The final battle one of the most exquisite. The cavalry and archers amidst the great steppes of Mongolia. Truly poetry in motion, truly worth our admiration.
