Review of Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan (2007) by Doris R — 11 Jan 2012
Brilliantly conceived and acted movie - whenver the audience could have been spared at least some of the blood spattering!
I was asked how historically accurate this movie is. Honestly, I have absolutely no idea just that it was based on the actual Mongol's life. However, having been trained in screenwriting I am well aware of the constantly repeated advice I got throughout my one-year course - conflict, conflict, conflict! So, no doubt there will have been at least some drama added to the story to make it more 'filmable'. If you want the true story and the true story alone, I would suggest you either watch a documentary or read a book.
