The story of Billy Beane, general manager of the Oakland A's who took risks in using statistics and tactics to defy financial differences and drive his team through the Baseball World Series. Though the final part is drenched in sentimentality and cinematic clichés, the film is an impressive behind the scenes look at the world of baseball with an excellent performance by Brad Pitt.
