Review of Moneyball (2011) by Sumit S — 30 Nov 2012
The brilliant thing about Moneyball is that its not about just baseball but also how even the management that is responsible for building a team makes the mistake of undervaluing the players, robbing them off of what they actually are worth.
Its about this self-proclaimed smartness of few people that leads to the diminishing of the diamonds & polishing of pebbles. Its also about the conflict of ideas.. how a new approach is rejected outright by those who have been sticking with the conventions.
Based on a true story & brought alive by great performances from its ensemble cast, especially from Brad Pitt & Jonah Hill, Moneyball is a big shot of inspiration & one of the best sports films ever.
