Review of Moneyball (2011) by Stephen S — 10 Jul 2013
This movie was a big lie. There were 5 players responsible for the success of the Oakland Athletics during the 2002 season. None were mentioned in the movie and none were acquired via "sabermetric" analysis.
The movie, from beginning to end is one big lie. It may be a well acted lie, but a lie nonetheless. Imagine doing an adaptation of Death of a Salesman and leaving out the Willy Loman character. In effect that's what we have here with this movie.
