Review of Moneyball (2011) by Matan S — 21 Jun 2014
Worthy adaptation of the book -- but if you're actually interested in this tale of empirical statistical methods defeating long-held conventional wisdom, which has allowed the low-budget A's to be perennial contenders against baseball's big budget titans, read the fascinating book.
And this is not a movie to watch for the acting -- the material simply doesn't lend itself to spectacular performances. I don't understand how Jonah Hill was nominated for best supporting actor in this role -- he barely did anything.
