Review of Moneyball (2011) by Phillip C — 27 Feb 2013
Sports movies are usually very cliche, but this is sort of the "anti-sports movie". Unconventional and well-acted, "Moneyball" tells the story of Billy Beane, general manager for the small-market Oakland Athletics, trying to succeed in the un-level playing field of Major League Baseball.
The movie usually moves pretty slow, but the character development and dialogue are more than enough to keep you interested. It's a stretch to even call it a sports movie, it's a character study.
