Review of Money Train (1995) by Paul P — 12 Jul 2008
It's what we'd all been waiting for. Woody and Wesley back together again. Sweet!
These guys have chemistry together. No doubt about it and given the right material (White men can't jump) they can really deliver. The problem here is that this is a really standard 90's thriller which has nothing to distinguish it from everything else. A totally redundant sub plot with Chris Cooper's nutcase seems to have been chucked in to take up some time and the whole loan shark plot is left unresolved. It's pretty lazy to be honest.
Wes and Woody are good value though, they can deliver profanities with the best of them and they are fun to be around. Lopez does her Jenny from the block thang and whilst she is nice to look at, she has nothing to do.
At worst this is forgetable stuff, at best you have Wes and Woody having fun, getting to wear lots of cool hats....
