Review of Money Monster (2016) by Haley A — 02 Jun 2016
In this Jodie Foster directed suspense-thriller, Lee Gates (George Clooney) is the charismatic host of financial advice show "Money Monster" where he picks stocks and gives Wall Street investment advice.
A stock glitch that cost it's investors $800 million occurs and no one seems to care- except Kyle Budwell. With the $800 million no where to be found the companies CEO unreachable on a plane, Kyle takes the matters into his own hands for the good of the people who lost everything when they took Lee's advice to invest.
Sneaking onset during a live taping the show becomes a race against the clock and Kyle forces Lee to wear a bomb vest to which he has a pressure sensitive detonator. With the building evacuated except for a few camera men, Lee, Kyle and show director Patty Fenn (Julia Roberts) must follow the money trail and crack the glitch-before Kyle takes his thumb off the trigger.
This film is the perfect amount of suspense mixed in with enough comedic one-liners to keep you laughing and on the edge of your seat.
