Review of Money Monster (2016) by Moxie D — 07 Sep 2016

Overall, I liked this movie. It manages to capture the mistrust and anger a lot of Main Street folk have toward Wall Street, ultimately that WS behavior may be legal, but not necessarily ethical. And it also showcases the frustration a lot of us have with the media, that everything is just a show for ratings.

The acting is strong throughout. Clooney and Roberts are reliable as usual, and Jack O'Connell, who plays the lead anti-hero, does a fine job. Where the film is weak is in lack of character development, and what little we do know about the characters as people comes mostly through exposition, not seeing their lives.

Still it is worth a rental.
