Review of Money Monster (2016) by Muaaz M — 03 Jun 2016
I really liked this movie, and I am not a huge fan of hostage thrillers. The writing was pretty standard for the most part, but it had moments of brilliance that made me smile. Like the scene where they get the hostage takers girlfriend to speak to him.
I did not expect that, but the result was glorious. I think the main reason this movie suceeds, though, was thanks to the three lead actors who do a bang up job. I was surprised to learn that this is only Jodie Fosters second film as director.
The movie has a very sure handed feel to it that I would have attested to a more seasoned director. Hopefully her next film is even better.
