Review of Money Monster (2016) by Colby H — 08 May 2017
Money Monster was a film that I heavily anticipated. I was convinced by the unique plot and talented actors. I was disappointed, but I still liked it. It was decently paced, it had solid acting, and a good script. These all add up to construct a very good thriller. That doesn't mean that it didn't have flaws. The character development was good, but there were too many characters to keep up with. Some of them got annoying after a while. George Clooney and Julia Roberts pulled off fairly believable performances. Everyone else wasn't committed to their roles at all.
For me, the film was anti-climactic. This is mainly because it got very predictable near the end.
Over all, Money Monster was a great thriller, but something just made it predictable. 3/5 stars.
