Review of Mondays in the Sun (2002) by Randy H — 26 Jan 2008
If you are not in the mood for action, but for a thoughtful piece about the frustrations of unemployment then watch this flick. I would also recommend this to anyone who enjoys Bardem, because he is (as always) masterful.
Issues involved with this transcend cultures as many countries sense of nationalism is being replaced by capitalistic endeavors. There is a touching and tense side story with Jose (Luis Tosar, who also shines) and his wife.
I understand why some critics were hard on this film and it might have something to do with the fact that they have very cush jobs.
