Review of Mona Lisa Smile (2003) by Matt M — 17 Jun 2013
This film about a revolutionarily feminist art history teacher at an all girl's college in 1953, teaching girls to dream and have greater goals than being a housewife is pretty much the feminist version of Dead Poets Society with the usual inspirational teacher formula, offering nothing new.
The top cast is a draw, but the real treat is the stylish photography and nice melancholic music composed by Rachel Portman.
