Review of Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon (2022) by Injureddriver — 20 Oct 2022

I'm very split on this movie. It's definitely my least favorite of the other two Amirpour movies that I've seen (The Bad Batch, A Girl Walk Home Alone at Night). Not much depth to the plot or the characters, the pacing is sort of meh, and given the particular subject matter I would have preferred the ending to have a bit more of an explanation or resolution to it.

It did have some pretty good visuals at times and pretty good acting especially by Kate Hudson. If you really like Amirpour's other films than this one is probably worth watching at least once, it definitely won't feel like a total waste of time, but ultimately it's much more forgettable than her other movies.
