Review of Mona Lisa (1973) by Natasha M — 23 Jul 2011
This holds up as well today as in 1986. Neil Jordan subsequently became very uneven in his filmmaking efforts but this exquisite gem is pitch perfect and a reminder of why British crime movies are revered.
Bob Hoskins, Michael Caine and Robbie Coltrane are at the height of their powers and Cathy Tyson is very affecting as the beautiful black prostitute. It was a great pleasure to see this again and enjoy it wholly.
