It is a jarring movie to watch. I find it beautiful yet traumatising to watch as it is a rather unconventional movie, mainly because of the unusual relationship between Die and Steve and the unconventional screen size (1:1), which adds a sense of perversion as we watch these characters unfold in our eyes and the feeling of claustrophobia because of the dimensions and the close shots.

As for this movie, I thought this movie was well-acted and shot. I find Die and Steve's relationship as a mother and son was a little frightening and very complex. Steve's actor really did shine through with this film and the struggle was convincing and did find this child to be scary enough to be close to.

I thought Kyla's actress was great and was a joy to watch her interact with Steve as she helps the struggling family despite having problems of her own and nearly almost neglecting her own family.

This movie was just full of compassion and kindness added with the chaos of Steve's ADHD, a little uncomfortable to watch but an eye opener to the potential and talent that the actors and Dolan have.
