Review of Mommie Dearest (1981) by Matthew R — 21 Mar 2010
A great 80s movie about an abusive Hollywood mother in the 40s with a 60s style to it. Acting was great from both leading ladies (three since two people play one person- younger and older). The only complaint I had was that they never really put much detail in whatever happened to the son.
Was he away, did he go somewhere else when these events happened? What? But all in all this movie is worth watching, especially for Madame Dunaway's overacting. Steer clear if you are not one for child abuse though.
There is a scene where it does indeed bother you if so.
