Review of Modern Times (1936) by The Critic ( — 26 Oct 2013
Although not the best of Charles Chaplin's treasured classics, 'Modern Times' is a consistently watchable and visually impressive film. Flashes of the director's brilliance shine through here and the picture's production values never falter, with Chaplin taking centre stage and Paulette Goddard proving to be an ideal leading lady.
