Review of Modern Times (1936) by Antti R — 10 Mar 2008
Probably the best Chaplin film ever. When this film was made the era of the silent film was coming to an end. Consequently this is the last film where we see the tramp beacause Chaplin felt that the tramp couldn't talk.
He could sing, though and we hear it in this film which is hilarious and tragic throughout. Especially the scenes in the factory are just fantastic. This is great stuff, check it out.
