After watching this romantic comedy I asked myself if I was laughing at Charlie or with him. I believe the answer is neither, I was laughing at life itself because I was watching a genius at the peak of his creative powers.
Chaplin directed, wrote, produced, starred in, and composed the music score. It's unusual for being a silent film with sound.
