Review of Modern Times (1936) by Paige M — 26 Mar 2009
Ahh, another Chaplin masterpiece. This movie takes an interesting look at the Great Depression and can easily be related to 'modern times' and the recession that this generation is seeing. Although the recession of today is not even comparable to the horrors of the Great Depression, there are interesting similarities to how people reacted and how life should be treasured. Charlie shows what the machine can do to man and did do to man and his innocence is nothing less than humorous. He stands up for what he believes in and makes this film one to charish forever. I think the ideas and values in Modern Times will last forever no matter what the tecnology.
Nothing but the best from Charlie Chaplin, as always! :).
