Review of Modern Times (1936) by Jack W — 07 Jun 2009
Great entertaining film to watch even 70 plus years after its release. Chaplin as a physical comedian was so impressive and some of his best work is shown here, particularly the factory sequences. The production design is very good and the score is top notch.
Goddard was a classic beauty and the penultimate scene with Chaplin singing is just hysterical. I highly recommend this film not only for its themes and meanings but for its pure entertainment value as well.
