Review of Modern Times (1936) by Markus S — 31 Jul 2010
As good as silent movies get.
Chaplin is hilariously funny and the movie setting during the Great Depression is still relevant in today's times. Chaplin is surely the master of slapstick comedy. As a critique of early 20th century working conditions I still think 'Metropolis' is the better movie, but 'Modern Times' is certainly funnier.
