Review of Modern Times (1936) by Andrew B — 13 Mar 2011
Charlie Chaplin was a genius. He acted, directed, composed music, sang, and danced. His use of "sound" in this "silent" film is remarkable, and, to me, was unexpected. The whirlwind of a story was a nice touch too: being shoved from place to place, never knowing where you'll end up next.
I don't think Chaplin is as funny as Buster Keaton, but he's is funny. Very funny.
