Review of Modern Times (1936) by Juan Carlo V — 09 Feb 2013
Charlie caplins's little tramp has to be the most iconic character of our "Modern Time". A great "history" lesson for everyone who wants to understand the dehumanizing period of the "Great Depression" in a very cheerful way.
It's amazing and remarkable for me how Chaplin made a wonderful and a charming comedy about one of the worst and most depressing periods known in the history of the US. I really love these kind of "Comedies" a lot; not only because I will always enjoy funny-characters in very dramatic but still hilarious situations, but beacuse everytime I think of them.
.. they make me SMILE : ).
