Review of Modern Times (1936) by Sumit S — 17 Mar 2013
Charlie Chaplin bid farewell to silent era of filmmaking with a satirical take on industrialised America. Modern Times does make its statement in a big way but it doesn't rob its viewers from laughing out loud throughout its runtime.
Downright hilarious, providing quality entertainment & crafted with great technical accuracy, Modern Times is one of classic cinema's finest films & is my all time favourite Chaplin film as well.
A masterpiece without a shadow of a doubt, Modern Times is a comedy classic in every way & is a perfect way for a perfectionist to say goodbye to the era that made him the best in the filmmaking business.
