Review of Modern Times (1936) by Zack M — 07 Mar 2011
This is a timeless masterpiece. It hasn't dimmed whatsoever from the time it was released, and it won't for long into the future. The comedy has an affect on every single individual and no one can sit through this film with a straight face. No matter your age, gender, or background there is something to love in this, and every, Chaplin comedy. This is the pinnacle of all the Chaplin films I have seen and it is in an elite group of comedies being the cream of the crop. It will have you rolling.
The cinematography is brilliant as always for Chaplin. It has epic shots with great back drops. The props are impressive even for today's viewers. The props give life to the flawless physical comedy.
The film has a way of lifting your mood and spirits like no other comedy. Chapin will go down as the greatest physical comedian in cinema history.
