Review of Mobsters (1991) by Andrew G — 11 Sep 2010
Trying hard to be a mixture of Once Upon A Time in America, GoodFellas and the Godfather Part II, Mobsters completely fails and is just a cheap imitation of those much better films in the same genre. The cast is terrible, the script is awful, and all the film has to offer is pointless nudity and violence.
It's so desperate to be as good as the other films that I've mentioned, that it directly steals certain aspects (some scenes were exact Camera tricks used by Scorcese, and the entire opening could just have easily been an alternate one for Once Upon A Time in America if you replaced the cast).
My opinion is watch the films I've mentioned, and ignore Mobsters.
