Walt Disney takes us on a Polynesian ride across the ocean in this beautifully-rendered and composed coming-of-age tale. Encapturing a rarely used culture and environment in cinema, it is both, a refreshing change but a natural visual wonder to behold.
Moreover, it has a strong female lead that isn't afraid to take on the world and make their own destiny. Great songs too.
