Review of Moana (2016) by Tim R — 28 Jun 2017
Moana is a great family movie. The jokes didn't quite land and they kept recycling the ones that didn't work. And while I have my own issues with the inclusions of some characters and side quests as they felt redundant, the adventure is still a fun ride.
The songs are also forgettable and I think would have made a stronger movie without the full list of them or just include one or two. I love the family aspects created and the grandmother is possibly my favorite in any movie I've seen.
I also want to note the opening section of Moana is so strong and really set a tone for the rest of the movie ahead. Moana stands as another Disney success continuing after Zootopia as the now leader of Animation films above it's own partner house, Pixar.
